Young Alumna Award
Kavita Ram is a member of the Trinity High School Class of 2019 and an IB Diploma recipient. She is a first-generation daughter of Indian immigrants and was born and raised in Chicago. During her time at Trinity, she was a proud member of the Cross Country Team and the A-Cappella Choir, where so many of her Trinity friendships began. Kavita eventually led Trinity's Improv Club and its social justice organization. She went on to pursue a degree in biology with a minor in public policy at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, starting her journey to medicine. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan, Kavita moved back to Chicago and started her work as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Chicago. She is currently conducting a large-scale sleep study for stroke inpatients in acute rehabilitation at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the nation's #1 rehabilitation hospital. She is honored to be a part of advancing sleep research for stroke recovery using cutting-edge sensor technologies at a top translational research institution. She is also excited to apply her experiences in her upcoming career in the medical field. She recently applied to medical school and is excited for her next chapter, whatever it may hold! Outside of her work, she enjoys cooking, music, and finding fun ways to work out, whether it be in the gym or a new fitness class!
