Young Alumna Award
Helen Jonas Nardi ’97 is the recipient of the young alumna award. Helen graduated from Dominican University with a BS in Psychology with a minor in Theology. While attending Dominican, Helen was struck by a pipe bomb in a tragic accident. The accident nearly caused her to lose her life. She underwent numerous operations while fighting for her life. She lost an eye as a result. This did not deter Helen from achieving her goal of graduating. Moreover, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Helen has been faced with many obstacles in her life and she has never let them deter her love of life. She is a never-ending optimist who shares her joy with all of her patients and all she comes in contact with. She is an inspiration to so many. Helen and her husband and two children live in Chicago.
