Librarian a Guest of the Japenese Government

Trinity librarian Mrs. Tindall will be gone the last three weeks of November on a study trip to Japan as a guest of the Japanese government through the Japanese Fulbright memorial Fund Teacher program. She will be learning about Japanese culture and educational systems. As part of her trip, she will be visiting the Peace Monument in Hiroshima. Anyone who has read the book “Sadoko and the Thousand Cranes” knows that it is the tradition to fold origami cranes to be hung at the monument as a prayer for, and a commitment to, world peace. Friday, November 10th students and faculty gathered in the Library to fold cranes to be sent with Mrs. Tindall. Individual classes in Theology, Foreign Languages and Science also folded cranes in their classrooms. The cranes will be strung together in groups of 100. All 1,000 cranes will be hung at the Peace Museum carrying all of the Trinity community’s prayers for peace. Visit her site at: www.travelswithmrstindall.blogspot.com.
