Trinitarian Honoree 2003
This prestigious award honors a member of the Trinity community who is a leader in the development of skills for lifelong learning, an ethic of care and the desire for excellence. This year's recipient is the late Bernard K. Hanley for his excellence in scholarship, stewardship and leadership.
Bernie's dedicated involvement as a Board Advisor, Director, Executive Committee Member and Board Chair truly exemplify his commitment to Trinity High School. While a Board Member, he recruited future directors to the board and tirelessly shared his heart and love for Trinity and the young women we educate.
Bernie was a champion for Catholic education, and he believed faith and education were two of the most valuable gifts for any child. He was evidence in his lifetime of action to support Catholic Education. Not only did he devote innumerable hours to Trinity's Board of Directors, but he was also extremely involved as a Fenwick High School trustee and offered many years of service to St. Luke School Board and Parish.
Bernie Hanley was a man of faith and love. His wonderful family, friends and his colleagues were the recipients of his warmth and zest for life. We honor Bernie for the example he has set and the bar he has raised for all of us. He truly demonstrated what an honor it is to advance the mission of Trinity High School. We affirm his values, ethics and devotions by conferring this prestigious award.
