Trinitarian Honoree 2002
 We are proud to present the first Trinitarian Award to Sister Jeanne Bessette, OSF, Ed.D
This prestigious award honors a member of the Trinity community who is a leader in the development of skills for lifelong learning, an ethic of care and the desire for excellence. The Trinitarian Award is an honor bestowed upon that individual who distinguishes themselves in his or her commitment to excellence in scholarship, leadership and stewardship.
Sister Jeanne came to Trinity in July of 1992. During her tenure, Trinity has flourished. Sister Jeanne asked the question, "What purpose would yet another school that aspires to mere academic rigor serve in our Church and community?" Under her guidance, Trinity has seen six consecutive years of a 100% college acceptance rate and a student body so devoted to charity that they gave 16,000 hours of service for the past two years.
Sister Jeanne earned a B.A. in English from College of St. Francis, an M.A. in English Literature from Loyola University, Chicago and an Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco, where she was recognized as an Outstanding Doctoral Student. Clearly she was abundantly qualified to guide Trinity into the future in terms of both academic substance and practical administration. Sister Jeanne's legacy includes innovations that have become emblematic of Trinity such as the International Baccalaureate honors program and Block Scheduling. She truly prioritized quality education for young women in a pastoral environment throughout her time at Trinity and we are grateful for her dedication to the Trinity mission.
