What is service?
Since its founding, Trinity High School has provided opportunities for its students to practice skills of compassionate leadership and service. True to the mission of Trinity, the service requirements reflect our conviction that people who give service are transformed by that experience. Your service must meet the following criteria:
- The work must be person to person, face to face service that has the potential to be transformative. The work should not be paperwork, filing, entering data into a computer, etc.***
- Students may not receive monetary compensation for the service.
- The service must not be conducted for members of one’s own family. This includes babysitting and caring for elderly or ill relatives.
- Service work must be focused on persons/populations in need.
- The work may not qualify as an extracurricular activity. This includes athletics, clubs, etc.
- The work may not double as hours towards National Honor Society or CAS service requirements, nor can the work double as participation in the Class Community Projects.
- Students should always be mindful that they are representatives of Trinity High School and the Dominican Community. While serving, students should aim to uphold the mission of being present to their brothers and sisters in Christ.
