National Italian Honor Society
The name of our Italian Honor Society is: The Dante Alighieri Chapter.
We chose the name after the father of the Italian Language who was a master in the arts of writing and speaking during the Renaissance period 1235-1321. He is the author of the greatest epic ever: The Divine Comedy.
Membership is by invitation only to those who meet these requirements:
Promote the study of the language and culture as evidenced by:
her current enrollment in the third year of language study at Trinity High School
her continued study of the language beyond the year of induction
Demonstrate high academic achievement in the language as evidenced by:
a 4.0 average in the language for four consecutive blocks of study at THS
Demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect for learning.
Academic and personal dishonesty are serious offenses. They will automatically disqualify a candidate for Honor Society consideration.
Abide by all the rules and regulations as stated in the Student Handbook.
Upon acceptance of the invitation, the student is required to attend the preparation meetings(s), rehearsals AND induction ceremony.
Members have fund raisers to help support our classes and promote the culture this historic country has to offer. Members try to instill its traditions, good taste, music and fine language.
