The Trinity Library

Welcome to the Trinity Library. Along with the English Department, the Trinity Librarians will be teaching Freshman Seminar for the next nine weeks. During this class you will learn the basic skills for a successful high school career and beyond. As it says in the Library mission statement:

  • It is the Library's mission, in harmony with the Trinity High School mission, to challenge young women to pursue faith, truth and knowledge
  • The Library supports both students and faculty within the curriculum in an atmosphere that encourages thinking and questioning
  • The Library strives to foster the development of an intellectual curiosity that leads to lifelong learning

Facilities

Group StudyStudents are welcome to use the Library before, during, and after school. Library hours are 7:30 - 4:00 Monday-Wednesday, and 7:30-3:30 on Thursday-Friday. During period 3 the Library offers a silent study area in the Library classroom area and small group study by the stacks. Students can reserve a small group table for the same day before school starts.

CopierA copier is available for student use. Copy cards are $2 for 20 copies. It does not take money and cards can not be recharged.

ComputersThere are 12 desktop computers and 10 laptops for student use. Every student has storage on the 'U' drive of the Trinity server. No matter which machine you use in the building, your work will be saved to the same place. A Trinity username and password must be created the first time a computer is used.

Resources

The Trinity Library consists of two parts: a paper Library located on the second floor and a virtual Library on the Internet. The second floor Library houses a collection of over 7,000 books, 40 periodical titles, 300 films, six culture awareness boxes and audio video equipment. It is open during school hours. Books circulate for two weeks; reference material and films overnight; culture awareness boxes and reserve material for one class period.

The virtual library consists of the Gale Virtual Reference Library of 500 ebook titles and a collection of databases with subscriptions to over 1,800 newspapers, 1,500 periodicals and thousands of books. The databases are:
